Broadcasters

Broadcasters are short-range energy weapons capable of sustained fire. Most broadcasters emit an energy cone that will damage any enemy within it for as long as the trigger is held down. Laser broadcasters emit a linear beam instead of a cone, but have a longer range. They do not use ammo, and thus, have no reload time. Instead, they use an energy guage (similar to a tachometer) that constantly increases as the weapon is used. If the needle goes past the redline, and the trigger released (or if the needle hits the end of the guage), they cannot be used until the needle is back at the redline.
